When a crisis works in your favor

Romans 8:28

Text: Romans 8:28 — “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…”

Introduction A crisis can shake you, confuse you, and make you feel alone. It can make even the strongest person feel weak. But here is the truth:

  • Your crisis is not the end.
  • God is not intimidated by it.
  • God is not surprised by it.
  • God is not blocked by it.

Many times, the crisis you fear becomes the very tool God uses to build something greater.

A Crisis Does Not Cancel God’s Purpose

  • Joseph went from pit → slavery → prison → palace.
  • What looked like destruction was the road to destiny.
  • “You meant evil… but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20).
  • People may hurt you and circumstances may overwhelm you, but no crisis can destroy God’s plan.
  • Sometimes God allows crisis to move you, position you, or grow you—because His purpose is bigger than your comfort.

A Crisis May Be the Door to a Greater Miracle Before every major miracle, there was a crisis:

  • The Red Sea
  • Lazarus in the tomb
  • Daniel in the lions’ den
  • The Hebrew boys in the fire

Miracles often appear when:

  • Your strength runs out
  • Your options run out
  • Your answers run out

That’s when God steps in and makes it undeniably Him. Your crisis may be the doorway to your deliverance.

A Crisis Reveals God More Clearly Than Comfort

  • In comfort, God is present…
  • In crisis, God is close.
  • “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted” (Psalm 34:18).
  • Pressure reveals God’s power.
  • Storms reveal His voice.
  • Weakness reveals His strength. Your crisis becomes the stage for God to show Himself.

A Crisis Prepares You for What You Prayed For

  • You prayed for faith → the crisis came.
  • You prayed for strength → the crisis came.
  • You prayed to grow spiritually → the crisis came.

The crisis isn’t punishment—it’s preparation.

  • What you call crisis, God calls classroom.
  • What you call setback, God calls setup. You are being shaped for something you asked God for.

A Crisis Does Not Define You — God’s Word Does You are not defined by:

  • what you lost
  • what failed
  • who left
  • what broke

You are defined by God’s promise: “For I know the plans I have for you… to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Don’t let a temporary crisis make you forget an eternal calling.

Conclusion Do not fear. This crisis is not the end of your story.

  • It’s the soil where God grows greatness.
  • It’s the pressure that brings breakthrough.
  • It’s the doorway to destiny.

If you could see what heaven sees, you would stop worrying and start worshiping. Hold on. Trust Him. God will bring beauty out of this crisis. And one day you’ll say, “It was good that I went through that… because it brought me here.”

Closing Prayer Father, thank You that no crisis is bigger than Your plan. Give us faith when we don’t understand, strength when life feels overwhelming, and eyes to see that You are working for our good. Turn our crisis into testimony and our fear into faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
