The Harvest Is Coming
Galatians 6:7-9
Scripture Text: Galatians 6:7-9 (NIV)
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction, whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

1. You Can’t Fool the Farmer (Galatians 6:7)
Paul begins with a strong warning: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.”
The world tries to ignore God’s principles—mocking holiness, twisting truth—but Paul reminds us: God sees everything. He’s not fooled by appearances or excuses.
Illustration:
If you plant tomato seeds, you won’t get cucumbers. That would be ridiculous. But spiritually, many expect a harvest of joy and peace while planting seeds of gossip, envy, and pride.
Principle: You can’t plant the wrong seed and expect the right fruit.

2. Flesh vs. Spirit: Choose Your Field (Galatians 6:8)
Paul gives us two choices:
- Sowing to the flesh leads to destruction—this includes selfish desires, anger, lust, pride, and spiritual laziness.
- Sowing to the Spirit leads to life—this includes love, patience, generosity, prayer, and obedience.
Application:
Every decision is a seed:
- The words you speak? Seed.
- What you feed your mind? Seed.
- Time in worship or worry? Seed.
You are either sowing into the flesh field or the Spirit field. The harvest will reflect the seed.

3. Don’t Quit Before the Harvest (Galatians 6:9)
Paul urges: “Let us not become weary in doing good…” Why? Because a harvest is coming.
Let’s be honest—doing the right thing can get tiring.
- You pray, but don’t see results.
- You forgive, but still feel hurt.
- You give, but feel unappreciated.
But Paul says: Keep going. The harvest isn’t instant, but it’s guaranteed if you don’t give up.
Illustration:
Farmers don’t dig up seeds to see if they’re growing. They plant, water, and trust the process.
Faith is like that—you plant obedience, and God brings the harvest in His time.
⸻
Conclusion:
- What you sow is what you reap.
- Sow to the Spirit, not the flesh.
- Keep doing good—even when it’s hard—because God promises a harvest.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Your promises. Help us be faithful in planting seeds that please You. Strengthen our hearts when we grow tired, and keep us from giving up. We trust You for the harvest—in our lives, our families, and our future. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
