Let God Arise
Psalm 68:1
Main Text: “Let God arise, let His enemies be scattered, let those also who hate Him flee before Him.” (Psalm 68:1, NKJV)
Introduction:
Psalm 68:1 declares God's power and victory. When God arises, His enemies scatter, and His people experience deliverance. This verse reminds us that no challenge can stand before God. We'll explore what it means for God to arise in our lives and how His presence brings victory.
1. The Call for God to Arise:
"Let God arise" is a call for God to manifest His power. Throughout Scripture, God's rising signifies His intervention to bring justice and victory.
- Biblical Examples: Israel's deliverance from Egypt (Exodus 14:27-28), David's victory over Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-50), Jesus' resurrection (Matthew 28:6).
- Personal Application: When facing battles, call on God to arise. Trust His power.
- Key Point: When God arises, His power brings breakthrough and victory.
2. The Defeat of God’s Enemies:
"Let His enemies be scattered..." God's presence causes His enemies to scatter.
- Who Are God’s Enemies? Spiritual forces (Ephesians 6:12), earthly opposition (Isaiah 54:17), personal struggles.
- How God Scatters the Enemy: Through His Word (Hebrews 4:12), prayer (James 5:16), praise (2 Chronicles 20:22).
- Illustration: Darkness flees when light appears. No matter how strong, opposition cannot stand before God.
- Key Point: God's presence brings victory and freedom.
3. The Assurance of God’s Presence:
Psalm 68:1 is also a promise of God's presence. When He arises, He is near, guiding and empowering.
- God’s Presence Brings: Victory (Isaiah 54:17), peace (Psalm 46:1), guidance (Psalm 23:4), confidence (Romans 8:31).
- Living in God’s Presence: Stay close through prayer and His Word. Trust His presence. Declare His promises.
- Key Point: God's presence is a source of victory, peace, and confidence.
4. Responding to God’s Victory:
When God arises, our response should be praise, thanksgiving, and bold faith.
- Praise as a Weapon: Praise invites God's presence (Psalm 22:3) and confuses the enemy (2 Chronicles 20:22).
- Thanksgiving for His Faithfulness: Remember past victories. Thank Him in advance for current victories.
- Walking in Bold Faith: Live confidently, knowing God is fighting for you (Romans 8:37).
- Application: Identify areas where you need God to arise. Declare Psalm 68:1. Move forward in faith.
Conclusion:
Psalm 68:1 declares God's authority, victory, and presence. When God arises, no enemy can stand. His people experience deliverance, freedom, and joy. Let us call on Him to arise in our lives, trusting in His power and presence to bring victory over every challenge.
