Grace Makes the Difference
1 Corinthians 15:10
Introduction: The Unseen Force Behind Every Believer If the Christian life could be summed up in one word, it would be grace. Grace is God’s unearned favor and His empowering presence. It takes ordinary people and works extraordinary things through them. Without grace, our efforts fall short, with grace, everything changes. Paul said, “By the grace of God I am what I am” (1 Corinthians 15:10). Grace makes the difference.
Grace Is God’s Gift, Not Our Achievement (Ephesians 3:2–7)
- Paul received his calling by grace—not merit.
- Grace calls you before you qualify.
- Grace equips you to do what you cannot do alone.
- Grace sustains you when you feel unworthy.
- Faith anchors you in God’s promises, but grace empowers you to live them.
- Rules guide you, but grace fuels you.
Grace Levels the Playing Field (1 Corinthians 1:26–27)
- God rarely chooses those the world celebrates.
- Grace took fishermen and made apostles.
- Grace took a persecutor and made him a preacher.
- Grace takes the overlooked and turns them into vessels of honor.
- You don’t need the world’s credentials—just the grace God assigned to you.
- Not all are graced to do the same thing, but every believer is graced to serve, witness, and love.
Grace vs. the Flesh: The Power of the Spirit (Psalm 124:1–8)
- “If the Lord had not been on our side…”—that is grace.
- The flesh relies on effort, performance, and knowledge alone.
- The Spirit empowers trust even when answers are unclear.
- Grace shifts your dependence from yourself to God.
- Breakthrough comes not from ability, but from His presence and power.
Grace Produces Love, Not Legalism
- Religion pushes performance, grace produces transformation.
- We love God because He first loved us.
- Works emphasize the flesh, grace emphasizes the Spirit.
- We obey not to earn favor, but because we already have it.
- Grace frees us from pressure and leads us into joyful obedience.
Grace Will Prevail
- When you feel stuck, you can pray, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”
- You may feel empty, but God’s grace is full.
- When your strength ends, grace begins.
- Grace carries you through every season.
- Grace makes the difference—grace will prevail.
Conclusion Grace is not just a doctrine, it is the heartbeat of the Gospel. It called you, saved you, keeps you, and will present you faultless. When you feel unworthy, remember: “My grace is sufficient for you.”
Closing Prayer Father, thank You for Your amazing grace. We cannot save or sustain ourselves. Teach us to rest in Your power, walk in Your Spirit, and trust that Your grace will prevail in every area of life. When we are weak, show us Your strength. When we are uncertain, remind us that Your grace makes all the difference. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
