Faith Demands, Grace Supplies
Ephesians 2:8
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) —
“For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
Introduction
When we talk about living the Christian life, two words must always stand together: faith and grace.
- Faith is what believes, grace is what gives.
- Faith reaches, grace releases.
- Faith makes a demand, grace takes care of the supply.
In this walk with God, faith makes the withdrawal, and grace fills the account!
Point 1: Grace Provides It All
Before you and I ever thought about God, He had already made everything available.
- Salvation? Already provided.
- Healing? Already paid for.
- Peace? Already promised.
Grace is God’s hand extended, offering everything freely.
Romans 5:2 says we have access into this grace by faith.
You don’t have to convince God to be good to you.
Grace already put it on the table — faith pulls up the chair and eats!
Point 2: Faith Reaches for What Grace Has Provided
Faith is not begging God, faith is believing God.
- Faith says, “Lord, if You said it, then I receive it!”
- Faith doesn’t create the blessing — grace already made it available.
- But faith is the hand that grabs hold.
It’s like a bank account full of treasure:
Grace made the deposit, but faith is the ATM card.
No faith, no withdrawal.
Mark 11:24 — “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Point 3: Grace Flows Freely, but Faith Must Move Boldly
Grace doesn’t operate on your performance, it operates on God’s promise.
But you still have to move — you have to believe!
The woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5) didn’t just sit in her house and say,
“If God wants me healed, He’ll do it.”
No!
She pressed through the crowd, she touched His garment, and Jesus said,
“Daughter, your faith has made you whole.”
Grace provided the healing, her faith took hold of it!
Point 4: Faith and Grace Work Together, Not Apart
Some people think,
“If it’s grace, then I don’t have to do anything.”
Others think,
“If it’s faith, then I have to work hard and prove myself.”
Both are wrong.
- Grace says, “It’s already done.”
- Faith says, “I believe it, and I’ll receive it!”
You can’t have faith without grace, and you can’t experience grace without faith.
Conclusion**
- Faith makes the move — grace takes care of the rest.
- Faith believes — grace supplies.
- Faith steps out — grace catches you.
- Faith prays — grace answers.
Today, don’t struggle. Don’t strive. Don’t wonder if you’re “good enough.”
Jesus was good enough for you!
Grace has already provided everything — now reach out by faith and take what God has given you!
Closing Prayer
“Father, thank You for Your amazing grace that has provided everything we need. Help us to rise up in faith, not hesitating or doubting, but boldly believing and receiving what You have already made available. Thank You for the partnership of grace and faith. We receive Your blessings today in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.”
