Do It Again: Walking in God’s Faithfulness

Lamentations 3:22-23

Key Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)

“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.”

Introduction

There’s something about waiting that makes us question everything.
We know God came through before. We’ve seen Him move mountains.
But in the quiet, in the delay, in the unanswered prayer—our memory gets hazy.

That’s where the song “Do It Again” meets us: right in the middle of the wait.

“I’ve seen You move, You move the mountains
And I believe I’ll see You do it again.”

This is not just a catchy line—it’s a declaration of faith in the face of fear, doubt, and delay.

Point 1: Remember What God Has Done

We need to start by remembering.
Before we worry about what hasn’t happened, we must recall what has.

In Joshua 4, after the Israelites crossed the Jordan River, God told them to take twelve stones from the riverbed and stack them as a memorial.

Why?
Because people forget.

Your past victories are not just trophies—they’re testimonies.
And testimonies remind us that if God did it before, He can do it again.

Psalm 77:11

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord, yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.”

Let me ask you:
What stones of remembrance do you have in your life?
What prayers did He answer last year, last month, last night?

Point 2: Trust in the Wait

The hardest part of faith is the waiting room.
You’ve prayed, you’ve fasted, you’ve tithed, you’ve done all you know to do—and still, silence.

“Waiting for change to come
Knowing the battle’s won
For You have never failed me yet.”

That’s trust.
Trust doesn’t mean we have all the answers, it means we believe in the One who does.

When Lazarus died, Jesus waited four days. Why?
Because God’s timing isn’t our timing, but His timing is always perfect.

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength…”

Your delay is not your denial.
Don’t confuse God’s silence with His absence.

Point 3: Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

“Your promise still stands,
Great is Your faithfulness.
I’m still in Your hands—
This is my confidence, You’ve never failed me yet.”

Faith is walking even when you don’t see the end.

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

God is not a one-hit wonder.
He is faithful. He is consistent. His promises don’t have an expiration date.

When the walls of Jericho fell, it wasn’t after one lap.
It was after seven days of walking in obedience—when it made no sense.

That’s what faith looks like: moving forward when nothing moves around you.

Conclusion: He’ll Do It Again

God doesn’t run out of power.
He doesn’t hit a supply chain issue with miracles.

He moved before—and He’ll move again.
Not always how we expect. Not always when we want.
But always on time.

So sing it. Declare it. Believe it:

“I’ve seen You move, You move the mountains
And I believe I’ll see You do it again.”

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful.
Thank You for every mountain You’ve moved and every door You’ve opened.
Help us remember what You’ve done and trust You for what You will do.

Even when we wait, we wait with hope, because Your promise still stands.
Strengthen our faith to believe—not just in what You did—but in what You will do.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
