Proverbs 18:21 Isaiah 53:5
Scripture Foundation
*Proverbs 18:21* — “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Isaiah 53:5** — “By His stripes we are healed.”
Introduction
Have you ever noticed how quickly we attach ownership to sickness?
People say things like:
- “My cancer…”
- “My diabetes…”
- “My high blood pressure…”
- “My arthritis…”
But here is the truth:You cannot claim the promises of God while claiming ownership of the problem at the same time. What you call yours, you permit to stay. What you reject, you position for God to remove.
1. Stop Agreeing With What God Never Gave You
Jesus never walked up to someone and said, “How’s your sickness doing?”
He always asked: “Do you want to be healed?” (John 5:6)
Sickness does not come from God. Healing does. Affliction is not His gift. Restoration is.
So when we say “my cancer,” we are mentally adopting something God never assigned to our lives.
You’re a child of God — andGod does not give His children disease.
Stop signing for packages that didn’t come from your Father.
2. What You Call It Determines How You Fight It
- If you call it“mine,” you’ll manage it.
- If you call it“the enemy,” you’ll resist it.
- If you call it“my condition,” you’ll adjust your life around it.
- If you call it“this attack,” you remind yourself it won’t last forever.
Ownership brings acceptance. Faith brings resistance.
The Bible never tells you to tolerate sickness. It says:
*“Resist the devil and he will flee.”* (James 4:7) “Speak to the mountain and tell it to move.”* (Mark 11:23)*
You cannot tell the mountain to move if you’re still calling it mine.
3. Your Words Shape Your Reality
The woman with the issue of blood didn’t say, “My sickness is destroying me.”
She said: “If I just touch His garment, I will be made whole.” (Mark 5:28)
Her breakthrough started with her mouth before it reached her body.
God created the world with words. You shape your world the same way.
When you keep calling it your sickness, you reinforce ownership spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
But when you declare:
- “This is not mine.”
- “This did not come from God.”
- “This will not stay in my body.”
You shift the spiritual atmosphere around your healing.
4. Call Yourself What God Calls You
God doesnot call you:
- Sick
- Defeated
- Broken
- Hopeless
He calls you:
*Healed* — Isaiah 53:5 Whole — Colossians 2:10 Delivered — Psalm 34:17 Redeemed* — Galatians 3:13*
So stop calling things yours that God says He already broke off you.
If Jesus purchased your healing with His blood, why are you still paying the bill with your words?
5. Your Body May Be Under Attack, But Your Identity Is Not
There’s a difference between adiagnosis and anidentity.
A diagnosis is a fact. Your identity in Christ is the truth.
Facts can change. Truth never does.
So instead of saying:
- “My cancer…” Say:“This cancer is trespassing on God’s property.”
Instead of saying:
- “My high blood pressure…” Say:“This blood pressure is not my portion. God is restoring order to my body.”
You are not a sick person trying to get healed. You are ahealed person fighting off an illegal attack.
Conclusion: Release What God Never Told You to Carry
Stop calling it mine. Stop adopting what God never assigned. Stop claiming ownership of what Jesus already paid to remove.
Speak the truth of God over your life:
- “I am healed.”
- “I am whole.”
- “My body belongs to the Lord.”
- “This disease is not my identity.”
- “I reject every diagnosis that tries to name me.”
Give the sickness back to hell — the only place it belongs.
Closing Prayer
Father, in the name of Jesus, I renounce every sickness trying to claim ownership over my life. I refuse to call any disease mine. My body belongs to You. By Your stripes I am healed, and I declare freedom, restoration, and complete wholeness. Let every lying symptom bow to the name of Jesus. Amen.
