God Provides and Multiplies
2 Corinthians 9:10
Scripture: “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” — 2 Corinthians 9:10 (NIV)
Introduction: God is both the provider and the multiplier. He gives us the resources to be generous and then blesses us even more so that we can continue to give. This verse reassures us that when we sow in faith, God will not only provide but will also cause an abundant harvest.
1. God Supplies the Seed
- “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food.”
- Every good thing we have—our finances, time, and talents—comes from God (James 1:17).
- Just as a farmer receives seed to plant, God gives us resources to invest in His kingdom.
2. God Increases What We Sow
- “Will also supply and increase your store of seed.”
- When we give generously, God multiplies our resources.
- Jesus said, “Give, and it will be given to you… a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.” (Luke 6:38).
- Faithful sowing leads to abundant reaping.
3. The Harvest of Righteousness
- “And will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”
- God’s blessings are not just material, they result in spiritual growth, deeper faith, and transformed lives.
- When we give, we participate in His work, bringing blessings to others and glory to His name.
Application: Recognize that everything you have is from God. Be faithful in sowing, whether through finances, kindness, or service. Trust that as you give, God will increase your resources and bless your life spiritually and materially.
Conclusion: God is our provider, and He blesses those who give generously. When we trust Him with what we have, He not only meets our needs but increases our ability to bless others.
Closing Prayer: Lord, thank You for being our provider. Help us to trust You, give with open hearts, and sow into Your kingdom. May our generosity bring a great harvest of righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
